Feedsacks … A history of recycling

Did you know that Goodwill probably began the fabric recycling movement in the name of charity. Granted at the time of its founding, folks reused fabric pretty consistently.  Remember Scarlet O’Hara in Gone With The Wind reusing the velvet drapes to make her elegant dress to visit Brett in jail.  I truly hope this movie is on your classics list.  But in a more recent past, my mother  would gather up our worn socks and mend them and would turn the collars of  my husband’s shirts. Do you even know what that is?  If living, she would be 100 this coming August.

So here is a link to the history of Goodwill…enjoy and look up turning a collar also!
